ERCOFTAC Best Practice Guidelines Course CFD for Dispersed Multi-Phase Flows 2026 with Problem Shooting Session and Posters
took place from 12th to 14th October 2026.

"While 20 years ago the accuracy of dispersed multiphase flows was mainly governed by the limited computational capacity,
nowadays the physical modeling poses the largest challenge"
Olivier Simonin, Lecturer

Participants and Lectures at the School of Mechanical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens

The 28 attendees actively contributed by presenting posters on their ongoing research to encourage exchange and discussion among participants.
They also gave short presentations during the problem-solving session to receive help with challenges they faced.

ERCOFTAC would like to thank: ERCOFTAC thanks Prof. Martin Sommerfeld (OvGU) for leading the organisation of the course; lecturers Martin Wörner (KIT),
Olivier Simonin (IMFT), Manuel A. Taborda (OvGU) and Foivos Koukouvinis (NTUA) for their valuable teaching; and colleagues from PC Greece for successfully hosting this year’s course.
